Ambient advertising
Advertising over longer periods of time means candidates will have more than one chance of viewing your advert. Adverts on buses and supermarket receipts will be seen again and again by candidates. Campaigns can last a month or longer, so the familiarity of your ad can help reinforce your message.
If you have many positions to advertise over a greater length of time, then it may be worth thinking about getting your message across in longer-term advertising.
Till receipts. You can put your advert on the back of supermarket till receipts. People will shop in the same area they live, so it can be an effective way of getting noticed. It also has the advantage that the same message will be read by the same people more than once. Even if they disregard it the first time, they'll have other chances to notice it.
Buses. Although the huge adverts which cover the outside of buses can be expensive, the smaller ones, especially those inside the vehicle, can be relatively cheap. With these ads, you'll need to get your message across in a very short time period, so keep it short and ensure the contact details are as memorable as possible.
