Commission for Social Care Inspection (organisation)
The Health and Social Care Act 2003 amalgamated the functions of the (NCSC) with those of the Social Services Inspectorate (the existing regulator of social care at that time), and established the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) as the sole regulator of all social care services in England from April 2004. The Commission for Social Care Inspection's primary function was to promote improvements in social care.
From April 2009, the regulation of adult social care services transfered to the Care Quality Commission.
